It feels so strange to be back here after taking an unplanned 5 month hiatus. I’m sorry that I just disappeared from blogging and it’s taken me this long to return. I have started writing posts plenty of times over the last few months and just have not been feeling it so they didn’t get published. I never want to post anything half hearted here, just for the sake of posting if that makes sense.
I know a lot of you have been keeping up with me over on my Instagram (@emslivingfortheweekend) but for those of you who haven’t I’ll give you a little low down on the last 5 months.
In October I visited Longleat Center Parcs with my family, this is the first family holiday we’ve had in 14 years and the first once since losing my dad and gran, so it was bittersweet but lovely too. Being there in the autumn was lovely we had long bright but crisp days and the trees were all beautiful.
November was a crazy month. We moved house to Coventry, had a hotel night in Kettering, went to a Less than Jake & Reel big fish gig, visited Denmark and Sweden and I had a girlie weekend in Liverpool. My feet didn’t really touch the ground in November!
December saw us settling into our new flat, buying our first ever real Christmas tree, taking and passing my accountancy exam, hosting friends and spending Christmas between both of our families.
January started off with great intentions, I joined the gym, decided to cut down on meat, took up guided meditation and generally just tried to concentrate on physical and mental health. As I’m writing this on 20/2/19 I am still going to the gym regularly, but the meat consumption has crept back up and the meditation is a distant memory, I need to get back on both of those! Aside from good intention, we had a hotel stay in Stratford upon Avon and a long weekend in a cabin in Yorkshire, which was bliss. I also started working for Ann Summers party plan again, I previously worked for them from 2004-2014 so I’m happy to be back in the saddle and pleased to say my little business is going from strength to strength at the moment (@annsummerswithemma)
February started off fairly quiet, I had a lovely relaxed weekend when my friend Zoe visited and then this past week we visited Bruges and Brussels. I’ve been to Brussels lots of times before but Bruges was a first and I can say it’s hands down the prettiest place I’ve ever been. Being there for Valentines Day made it even more special.
Soooooo…. that’s where I’ve been, over the next few weeks I’ll be posting some catch up pieces, some reviews from last year and the round up for my £2000 travel challenge.
I will then start on some destination pieces from Bruges & Denmark.
Over the coming months I have trips booked to Budapest (first time!) and Amsterdam (7th time) so I’ll be posting about those too.
Thanks for everyone who has stuck with me, throughout my no posting period. Come and follow me over on Instagram for more regular updates and if you pop your email in the box on the home page you’ll get a notification every time I post (You lucky ducks!)
