Back in January I had plans to head up to Chester for a good friends 30th birthday party. As this is a long drive we decided to turn it into a 3 day event.
On the first day we headed up to Telford, a place we had previously lived. As we arrived early we drove on up to Horseshoe Pass in Llangollen, this is somewhere I used to come a lot as a child and makes me think of my Dad and Gran, so it was bittersweet. We enjoyed a nice walk in the cold before heading back to Telford where we spent time catching up with some of my partners friends and had a lovely meal at Wildwood. We had a good wander around the ever expanding Telford shopping centre and I obviously went a bit mad in Primark. A state of being that unfortunately I’m prone to.
On the second day we headed to Chester, whilst I had been to Chester previously for events, I had never been into the town centre which is incredibly beautiful. We wandered down to the water and around some of the Roman ruins. We had lunch at Hickories Smokehouse which was AMAZING. I had my make up done at the MAC counter in Debenhams for the party that evening. The party was fantastic, so lovely to see friends from all over the country in one place and to be able to have a drink and a dance together.
The following day, after hangovers subsided a group of us headed to Liverpool, home to one of my closest friends. She gave us a guided tour around the city centre, the Albert dock, Matthew Street & the Cavern club. I hadn’t ever been to Liverpool but it is certainly somewhere I would like to return to and explore more. We ended the evening by having food at the Baltic Market, which is a collection of different food vendors under one roof, with a huge bar and loud music. You sit on long bench tables and everyone seemed to be very friendly and in great spirits. Being a Saturday night, it was very busy, with a huge array of different people, including four or five members of the Hollyoaks cast.
Whilst it was a whistle stop tour of all these places, it was so much fun!
