Spacemasks – A beauty review

A friend of mine recently asked me if I’d ever heard of  Spacemasks. I hadn’t and as you can imagine, I was conjuring up lots of weird and wonderful ideas in my head about what they might be.  She explained that they were a self heating eye mask, designed to help you relax and unwind.

They come in packs of 5, each one is individually sealed. Ideal for pamper days, flights or just winding down after a long day. I was sold and hopped onto their website and ordered myself a box. You can pay via PayPal and a box of 5 will cost you £15 making them just £3 each. I was having issues with my phone and was unsure if my order had gone through so I contacted them. Harriet, the owner replied straight away and reassured me. She was lovely and friendly, even though she was away in New York at the time. Now that is service! They also arrived the next day, which was a lovely surprise.

I couldn’t wait to open them, they come in lovely packaging so would make an ideal gift for anyone looking to relax or who travels a lot. They are infused with Jasmine, which helps with relaxation but it’s not overpowering. There are instructions but you simply pop them on your face and they heat up nicely, lasting around 15 minutes.

How do they work you ask? Well on their website Spacemasks state:

The heating process works by a thin layer of iron filings entwining with the oxygen molecules in the air. It is totally safe”

Well that’s good enough science for me!

I waited until I had a free evening when the other half was out, made a nice cup of decaf tea, got comfortable and popped on the mask, not knowing what to expect. The mask heats up gently, it doesn’t get hot, just a nice warming feeling. I took it off after about 20 minutes and I really did feel relaxed. If you have ever had a good but relaxing facial, it was similar to that feeling. I felt “Zen”.

I’m not a beauty blogger and I don’t know much about all the latest products, but this is certainly something I shall be repurchasing and purchasing for friends too.

Have you tried Spacemasks? What did you think?
